Social work is fundamental to social well-being and justice, acting as a bridge between social structures and individual needs. In a context of growing inequality and humanitarian crises, the ethical values that underpin this discipline are crucial. The general objective of the research is to explore the ethical principles that govern the practice of social work and the dilemmas that professionals face in their daily work. The aim is to foster a deep understanding of how these values are applied in diverse contemporary contexts. The methodology used includes a documentary and bibliographic review, using academic databases such as Scopus and Google Scholar. Peer-reviewed studies published between 2010 and 2024 were selected, which address ethics from empirical and theoretical perspectives, ensuring the quality and relevance of the literature analysed. Among the most relevant results, the need for ongoing ethical training for social workers stands out, as well as the integration of cultural diversity in their practice. Common ethical dilemmas are identified and the importance of fostering a culture of reflection and supervision is underlined. Furthermore, it is highlighted that institutional pressures and lack of training can limit the effective application of ethical principles in real-life situations, which requires a renewed focus on social work education and practice.
