Abstract

Currently, the simultaneous engagement in work and study is a common reality among young people, influenced by economic necessity and social dynamics. The general objective of this study is to analyze the impact of this duality on students' academic performance and emotional well-being. A mixed methodology was employed, including surveys and interviews with young people who work while studying. The most relevant results reveal that many of these students face significant difficulties in their academic performance, experiencing high levels of stress and emotional exhaustion. Despite these challenges, some young individuals also mentioned that work has allowed them to develop valuable skills, such as time management. These findings suggest the need to implement educational policies that provide support for working students, fostering a more balanced environment that enhances their academic and emotional development. This study examines the impact of work on the academic performance and emotional well-being of young students. A mixed methodology was applied, which included surveys and interviews, revealing that although many face high levels of stress and academic difficulties, they also develop valuable skills. The findings highlight the need for educational policies that support these students in their dual roles.
